This year, my self-imposed challenge is Pro-Am Showdown, where I take on a commercially produced card I've received (the Pro) and see if I can beat the professionals at their own game with my amateur card.
Here is the card that inspired me:
These days I rarely see a classic red, British phone box, but before mobiles they used to be everywhere. In fact, when I was a teenager we didn't have a house phone and I remember calling employers.looking for my first job, from the phone box at the end of our street.
Although it was only after I made my card that I started to wonder what phone boxes have to do with Christmas???!!!
The phone box is by Artemio; the foliage by Papermania, the sentiments are Hero Arts and Avery Elle. I used Enamel Accents for snow and fine glitter for frost.
I'd like to enter:
The Male Room - Technology
Just Us Girls (moon)light
HLS Christmas silhouette (the foliage)

I never thought about that... Phone boxes and Christmas? Either way your card is a pure delight!
Yes I am with Ros on this but they do appear on Christmas cards and what a fabulous job you've done on your self imposed challenge x
Just had a thought...maybe it's a hint to the recipient at Christmas to phone home LOL x
Classy and elegant and a brilliant take on that shop bought card. Thanks for playing at HLS Christmas challenge.
An absolutely brilliant case and idea for Christmas card. Phone boots don't have anything to do with Christmas, I agree with you there, but I find it's a theme actually suits really well for a Christmas card, bringing in lots of red, and for our generation, a memory of childhood, a time where Christmas feels extra special. So I love this!
You have done a beautiful job on this with all of your details. I love the snow on the little window panes. Thanks for playing along with us at JUGS!
What a pretty card! I love that image. I've always loved those phone booths! Hoping to see one in person some day! Thanks for playing with Just Us Girls!
This is so pretty! Love the red phone booth! ♥
I absolutely LOVE this card, it gives me memories of no phone too, same as you, what does it have to do with Christmas? well I don't know either, as I didn't have a phone until 1971, when we moved into our own home and we couldn't ring many people as they didn't have one either LOL.
A Fabulous card. Thank you for sharing with us at The Male Room. Faith DT
I much prefer your card to the commercially produced one!
Great winter card. Unusual and very unique approach to the subject :-)
Thank you for joining our challenge of HLS.
