Inkspirational Challenges : CAS - optional twist: animal

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

with the optional twist of: Animal.

For my DT card, I went with the optional twist and made a birthday card with a rhino, a balloon and a big sentiment, all in grey and khaki on white. Actually, there was no big plan here! All except the balloon were already stamped/ cut and just hanging around waiting to be used and I was happy with how they looked together,

Please go and look at the fantastic inspiration from the rest of the DT at Inkspirational and enter your own creation.

Snowman in Purples

Another unplanned card that I had fun making and then, afterwards, asked myself: "is it weird?"

I made the background with a round circle stencil and a grid stencil layered over and thought it would look good with the Paper Smooches snowman.  Then, as it's a snowman, I added white gel pen snow. So basically, a snowman is standing in front of some mesh which matches his outfit...  I must tell myself: Don't overthink it!

Long Legged Birds

Here, I stamped and masked the Justrite birds, and stamped the distressed wall (Leanne Creatif) behind them. Then I added a sentiment and some blue stars.

Inkspirational Challenges - Moodboard

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

For my DT card, I was inspired by the seascape on the left of the mood board. I was on holiday with just a bag of supplies but I had some watercolour paper, Zig clean color pens and a paintbrush, so I used these to make the background.  I then added a die-cut mermaid tail.

Paper Planes

Okay, I know I've taken major artistic licence with this scene (and that's not even mentioning the anthropomorphism). The mice seem to be standing on the paper they're making the planes out of. Or are they in fact standing on floor vinyl, and making vinyl planes? I don't know, but that patterned 'floor' just seemed right,

Summer Road Trip

This sunny birthday card is for my niece, who will be 17 later this month. (17 is the age you can get a driving licence in the UK, although I don't think she has started that process yet.)

A More Colourful Woodland

I used this Avery Elle stamp for my Inkspirational DT card last week, so , before I put it away, I decided to use it again for a different look.  This time I watercoloured the image with Zig Clean Color pens and added a random sentiment.

Christmas Gifts

I mentioned in an earlier post that I went on holiday and took one bag of  craft stuff with me. The bag included a handful of stamps, die cuts and scraps left from previous projects and two pencil cases : one with alcohol markers, the other with Zig Clean Color waterbased markers.

The first card is a one-layer-card , using a Purple Onion image, coloured with watrbased markers.

I'd like to enter this to:

For the second card, I used the same image with alcohol markers and cut it out. The base was folded ages ago, when I'd intended to use it for a bridge card but decided it was too small. I added patterned paper and a sentiment.

Thanks from the Cat

I just got back from a week in Cornwall, where we stayed in a cabin in a forest (not as remote as it sounds!) I took one bag of craft stuff with me, to keep myself amused while my partner and son enjoyed their lie-ins. It really stimulated my crafty mojo to create with limited supplies.

Here, the trellis and the white panel were die-cut before I left home. The flower image was a leftover from  a 'kit' sent to me many years ago when I did a 'challenge' with my crafty friends Pia and Nonni.

I cut the flowers out, coloured them with Clear Colour markers and added Nuvo glitter drops to the middles.

So, when I got home, I already had a card to give to my MIL to say thanks for feeding the cat.
