Smoosh

Made  a simple little card, to join in with the smooshing challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

I smooshed with Distress Oxide inks. The flowers are all one stamp and I just added a sentiment and some liquid enamel drops.

The Library Challenge - The Woman in the Window

At The Library  Lynne is the Visiting Librarian (Guest Designer) and she's chosen the challenge - The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn.

I read and enjoyed this book earlier in the year - it's in the 'grip lit' sub-genre and has lots of twists (although I think the twists are less surprising if you read a lot of this type of book ).  It's definitely not a ghost story but is quite spooky at times and is set in a big, old, New York townhouse . So, with the yellow behind the windows on the bookcover , I was inspired to make a spooky house shaker Halloween card.

We'd love you to join in with the challenge...

City Crafter - Pet Company

At City Crafter, Kirsty wants us to make a project about pets.

For my DT card, I made a monochrome one -layer card featuring a spotty dog  and lots of dots.

I hope you'll join in the challenge.

Two with a Leaf Stamp

Here's two cards I made, using an old Stampin Up leaf stamp, for the Twofer Challenge.

For the first one I made an alcohol ink background on yupo paper , stamped using Lift Off ink. Then I added loads of Nuvo drops in two colours.

Actually, I had a disaster making this card. After I'd added the drops, I picked it up to put it aside to dry and there was a draught of air that blew it out of my hand and onto the floor, face down! It was ruined - or so I thought. But when I wiped it over with a baby wipe I found the messed up wet Nuvo drops wiped off but the background and stamping were unaffected! So I was able to add the drops again.

I'd like to enter this into:

I'm not sure if my second card features a miniature fox or a giant leaf! The fox and sentiment are from Aal and Create.

The Library Reminder - Oscar

I made an extra card for the current challenge at The Library  The book, 'Oscar' is a fictional biography of a real-life jazz classic ,Oscar Peterson. I went with the general, musical theme of the book, using the record and sentiment stamps from Neat and Tangled and the star circle and musical notes from Winnie and Walter.

Inkspirational - Crafts Photo

Our new Inkspirational challenge is  to be inspired by the photo below.

I used a digistamp by Mo's Digital Pencil and I enlarged and cropped it , coloured it with Promarkers and added a large stamped sentiment. Of course, the crafter looks nothing like me with her reading glasses and "forever auburn" hair !

Our fabulous guest designer is Ilse so I hope you'll pop over to the challenge blog and see what she and the rest of the DT have made, before entering your own  project.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas card-making time..

...or is it just Chrtistmas stamp-buying time - I seem to have failed to amass sufficient quantities and so have been obliged to invest in more.  The deer and gift are from a new Avery Elle release but I've thriftily used a sentiment from an old magazine freebie set.

City Crafter - Birthday Shaker

At City Crafter, Lucille wants us to make a shaker birthday card.

For my DT card, I used a MFT pouch which I scanned into my Silhouette  to cut the aperture to size. I like these premade pouches as they leave lots of room for the sequins to shake around, something I find more challenging in a custom-made shaker.

I hope you'll join in the challenge.

The Library Challenge - Oscar

At The Library ,  Stef is the Visiting Librarian (Guest Designer) and she's chosen the challenge - Oscar by Mauricio Segura.

I confess - for the first time I've not actually read any of this book - every other book featured at The Library I've read at least excerpts from. But this is a relatively new book, written in French and the translated version is still quite expensive, even for the Kindle version...

I was inspired by the jazz pianist theme , and the cover.  I used a very old stamp by Stamps Happen and trimmed it into a loose shape. Then I coloured it using colours from the book cover. I think the image is quite masculine and the colours are more traditionally feminine ...but I must say, most men I know would be relaxed about that sort of thing these days. I added the 'stay cool' sentiment- not sure where it's from.

Angel and Wreath

I was recently lucky enough to win a set of Penny Black stamps from ABC Christmas Challenge , and this little angel is from that set.  I used a wood-backed wreath stamp and a sentiment from a sentiment set and only afterwards realised that all these stamps were by Penny Black.

I stamped the angel and coloured her with Promarkers and gold aquapen (on wings , star and halo) . I masked the angel and stamped the wreath three times in gold and blue, with liquid pearl gold accents.

Forest Farewell

I didn't put a sentiment on this card but I think it would work as a 'goodbye' card for someone who was leaving work or moving away.

The stamp (it's all-in-one) is by Honey Bee and I paper-pieced the bear with some subtly patterned brown paper. I cut the trees on the Silhouette.

This would be good for The Library Challenge - Winnie the Pooh - it reminds me of Pooh and his friends in 100 Acre Wood.

Cocktail Shaker

I made this card (for a fantastic work friend) a few weeks ago - I was really pleased with it but I must say, it's not particularly photogenic.  The pink is pinker in real life and the cocktail glass glitters and shimmers...

I designed and cut the cocktail glass it on the Silhouette.

City Crafter - Fall Colours

At City Crafter, Amy wants us to use fall/ autumnal colours.

For my DT card, I made a shaker using a Tonic leaf die and pouch. The image is Stampoin Bella, coloured with Promarkers and I embossed the copper cardstock with a Spellbinders folder.

I hope you'll join in the challenge.

The Applecart

I've noticed a few apple/ fruit themed challenges around lately so I made this to join in.

I recently was lucky enough to win a gift voucher from Happy Little Stampers (thanks Kylie) and I chose the set that contains this big Thanks stamp. I stamped the cart (brand unknown) and apples (Your Next Stamp) and added some white highlights.

Engagement

My daughter recently got engaged to a (female) police officer, so it's the perfectly opportunity to use the Hunkdory  cops and robbers theme stamp set.  I just stamped and masked the characters and stamped the police car behind. The sentiment is Avery Elle.
