You Did it!

I saw some great challenges that I could combine and scrap this lovely graduation photo. Well, it looks like I've chucked everything at it! See that pink tassel on the left of the photo? I got it in a kit once and thought I'd never use it. There's spray inks, washi, die cut hexagons, stencilled texture paste and a butterfly sticker. I think that's an A for effort!

Another Christmas card, combining some challenges.

Penguin with squiggly ice trails

Ooh I do  love penguins - in real-life and on Christmas cards. Here's one of my extensive penguin stamp collection- it's by For the Love of Stamps. The sentiments are Mama Elephant and I added Nuvo drops.

City Crafter - Watercolour Flowers

This week at City Crafter, Lucille wants us to create watercolour flowers.

Here I embossed a Concord and 9th flower and watercoloured it with Distress Inks, letting the colours run into each other. (Yes. folks, that's a deliberate effect!)

Please go over to CCCB and see the fabulous makes from the rest of the DT, then enter your own watercolour flowers project.

In Glorious Technicolour

Here I used a free digistamp by Dearie Dolls and I stamped it with a circle from Winnie and Walter Ring in the Celebration set . (That set is just one of the most useful ever.) The pink stripe (it's supposed to be from a paint roller) and the sentiment are by For the Love of Stamps.

It was two photo challenges that gave me the ideas for this card. I immediately loved the photo at Time Out and was going to do something with a bright pink retro chair but I found this image when I was looking through what I had. Then when I was colouring the flowers, I coloured the middles yellow and then remembered the sunflower photo at Just Us Girls  and decided to change them.

Paint the Town Red

This was the second red card I made last week. Do you find red ink quite aggressive? Not the colour, but for some reason it just seems to get everywhere! I was making a very white card earlier this morning and found a smudge of red ink on it that came from nowhere!

Anyway, here I've done lots of masking using stamps from two complimentary sets by Neat and Tangled and a city stamp by Kaisercraft. The sentiment is Waffle Flower and I made 'paint the town' on my computer.

The Library Challenge - Breakfast at Tiffany's

The new Library Challenge  is Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote. I've read the book but I don't think I've ever seen the film, although it's more famous.

Anyway, for my first card I tried to evoke the glamour and the city setting . The woman is a Funky Fossil stencil and the stamps are Kaisercraft and Clearly Besotted.

For my second card I used a Stamping Bella stamp to depict Holly Golightly reading about herself in the paper. I used two stencils for the background.

From One Sheet

Back to Basics  have a challenge I've not seen before - use one sheet of 12 inch patterned paper - so I had to join in.

I made four cards (I could have made another if I hadn't ruined some of it) using this paper from Carta Bella Space Age:

For my first card I made the paper into a stepper base (it's really good strength paper and double sided) . The robot was cut from another sheet in the range and the sentiment is an Avery Elle stamp.
I'd also like to enter this into:
Cardz 4 Guyz science fiction

Here I used two stamps - the rocket one is from a freebie magazine set a few years ago, and I paper-pieced it with the patterned paper. The sentiment is by Clearly besotted.
I'd also like to enter:
Casology  thrill

Here I cut a card with 'Explore the Universe' on it from another sheet in the range and layered it onto a panel of my sheet . On my Silhouette, I cut out the rocket. The flame is cut from the reverse side of the paper.

Finally, these stamps are from the freebie set I mentioned earlier, stamped directly ont the patterned paper.

City Crafter - Graduation

This week at City Crafter, Amy wants us to make a graduation card. As I haven't got any graduations on the horizon, I thought I'd make a card that would work for a graduation or for other achievements, like passing exams etc.

I repeat stamped frogs from a MFT set - they really make me smile. The text stamps and stars are from various other sets/brands.

Please go over to CCCB and see the fabulous makes from the rest of the DT, then enter your own graduation project.

Best get on with some Christmas cards.....

This is the kind of Christmas card I'd make if I was new to cardmaking and didn't have a whole room bursting at the seams with stuff.  I only used five items - inkpad, white pencil, kraft cardstock and two stamps (snowman Paper Smooches and sentiment Penny Black). Perhaps I should downsize my stash!
