Three Times Trees

Suddenly, it's Christmas! And I'm short of cards. So I made three using the same Paper Smooches stamp and some scraps of patterned paper.

Snowflake

 

Here's a snowflake, cut on my Silhouette, using an SVG I designed several years ago. I embossed it using Frantage for the speckled/ distressed effect. I layered it onto scraps of patterned text paper and patterned vellum and added a gem and a stamped sentiment.

Cat with a Balloon

 Here's quite a minimalist birthday card with a cat (Stampin Up) and a balloon (Avery Elle), some paper piecing and a restrained black, white and yellow palette.

 Decided to combine my need for Christmas cards with a couple of challenges. The reindeer is a Flora and Fauna stamp and the wobbly circle and snowflake were just leftovers I had hanging around.

A little while ago I had a great time splattering diluted white acrylic paint at coloured card, and I'm using some here. I can't really decide whether the splatters are stars or snow ...maybe both? The cocoa-drinking polar bear and sentiment are MFT stamps.

I made a shaker using a piece of patterned paper with squirrels on it, die cut leaves and sequins , and a stamped birthday sentiment.

Lion Card

 

This card arrived a little early for the baby boy's birthday, and I was told it was the first ever birthday card he received, which was sweet. It's very simple, using old stamps from different sets and slightly dimensional number and hearts.

 Here's a very CAS Christmas cards - 3 stamps : Santa (Mama Elephant), Jingle and flourish (Pink Paislee) - coloured with markers.

Cat in a Gift Bag

 I was inspired by the challenge at Shopping Our Stash - The Cat is in the Bag. 

I stamped these presents and then cut the bow off  the tall one and added a handle - hopefully, it now works as a gift bag. The cat is one of the Avery Elle Peek-a-Boo Pals. The background looks painted but it is actually patterned paper.

Bits and Pieces

 I do like to make backgrounds, but then I usually put them aside to use later - often, much, much later! 

This background was made by splashing watercolours around (I think they're Twinkling H20s) then stamping and embossing over it in black. The est of the card was made with bits of ephemera and die-cuts that have also been left languishing for a long time.

Both manual and digital die- cutting is great but one advantage to digital cutting files, like this one, is being able to size them up for more impact on a card front.

I made this card to combine some challenges. 

The giraffe and the balloon stamps are from different MFT sets. I will miss MFT now it's closed - I particularly liked the inspiration on their website, which now seems inaccessible. I did feel, however, that they were releasing too much and repeating themes too often - maybe that's why they didn't survive.

 This little boat is a Penny Black stamp. I used patterned paper clouds and waves cut from cardstock.

 I find flower stamps quite tricky : some of them I can look at and feel totally stumped, while others - like this one - I use over and over again. I've made several sympathy cards with it,over the years, but birthday / thankyou cards too,

This car stamp is by Stamping Bella - I coloured it with markers and added white gel pen, liberally.

Make a Wish

 I designed and cut these candles on my Silhouette cameo. The star-shaped 'flames' and sentiment are stamped and I dry embossed the card base.

 Almost a one layer card (excepting the 20) : I used MFT viking set and Catherine Pooler sun stamp.

 Here's a birthday card for my pizza-loving son. I used an SVG cutting file. I stamped the banner and sentiment (Avery Elle??) and created and cut the 18 on my digital cutting machine.
