Buttterfly and Blooms

 

I needed to make a birthday card for my mother-in-law, so I asked my partner if he had any ideas, He suggested flowers or butterflies, which is pretty much the same idea he's given me for the last 19 years- so the challenge was to come up with a new variation on the theme. 

I designed and cut a bridge card on my Silhouette digital cutter. I stamped the flower (Concord and 9) and the butterfly and colkoured them with markers. Finally I added some Nuvo drops.

Trying to capture the shine! 

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is: 

...that's clothing/ wardrobe to us Brits! 

I had a lot of fun imagining Santa catching up on his laundry while reading through the letters children have sent him. 

The Santa and sentiment are by Pinkfresh and the washing machine, basket and detergent stamps are Lawn Fawn. I added lots of shimmer to give a 'magical' effect, but so hard to photograph!

Surprise! Guest at Seize The Birthday

Surprise! Today, I'm honoured to be a guest at Seize the Birthday! The challenge is:

For my card I used an old record player stamp from Neat and Tangled - I coloured it in coral, grey and mint markers and paper-pieced the inside lid with some paper from Craftwork cards. The musical notes and the bird are from another set (possibly Inkadinkado) and I layered onto a panel of patterned paper and a raspberry card base.

The Library Challenge - Jane's Patisserie - Celebrate!

 

Here is the card I made for my new challenge at The Library which is: 

There are three (I think) of these Jane's Patisserie books and I've heard they're very good and easy to follow. 

For my card, I made a 16th birthday card for my niece, inspired by the rainbow cake on the cover. I used an electronic cutting file from Silhouette and I cut it out on my cutting machine, using glitter card for the rainbow colours and gold foil for the candle flames. I created the sentiment using computer fonts on my cutting machine,

The great thing about making a bee card is that it's a perfect opportunity to use one of my fave colour combos : yellow and black/grey. 

I stamped the border with a Hero Arts stamp and then stamped the flower and sun (Craft Stamper freebies), bee (Lawn Fawn), trail (diff Lawn Fawn set) and sentiment. Then I coloured in with a mustard Promarker.

70th Birthday Stepper

 

Side steppers seem to be my default 'fancy fold' at the moment - I love making them. This is a 70th birthday card for a dog-lover. 

Often when I make a stepper I use patterned paper, so this is unusual as I only used white paper and card on a kraft base. I coloured the paper panel with blue promarkers. I stamped the trees ( Concord and 9th), parcel (Aal and Create), dog (Colarado Craft) , sentiment (Avery Elle) and balloon (Happy Little Stampers) and the numbers are stickers.

For my DT card I made a shaker card using one of those celophane card bags. I stamped the image (it's all one stamp, by Indigo Blu ) onto some patterned paper and added some flakes called 'shaved ice'.

Here's anpther card for my challenge at The Library . Can you see the wild-haired 'she-devil' in the top left of the cover? That's what inspired this card, using two Indigo Blu stamps plus a sentiment.
