Ice-Cream Van

 

This ice-cream van, coloured with Promarkers, is an old digi image from Jellypark. The patterned paper is by Pink Paislee and the sentiment (on the back step) is an epoxy sticker from the same range - but I do find it irritating that the apostrophe is missing from 'it's'!

Inkspirational - Use Stencils

As some of you may know, my crafty hobby had to take a backseat for about 18 months, while I had lots of (positive) life changes and now I'm back I'm noticing some trends that have rocketed while I was 'away'. 

One of these is layering stencils, something I was inspired to try for my Inspirational DT card. 

This Pink Fresh stamp has a set of  layering stencils to go with it. I did find them tricky to use and this wasn't my first attempt. Tbh I don't really feel the result was worth the effort. Also, I've seen layering stencils, demoed on Youtube, that can be used with or without a co-ordinating stamp, so I'm a bit disappointed that this one cannot be used independently, It doesn't seem worth the cost. But I'm glad I tried it. 

As a side note, the die-cut Hello has been in my stash for years - I think it's from a swap cahllenge I did with Pia and Nonni - and that's my favourite bit of the card! 

Stencilled Trees

Dinosaur Wedding

 

I made this card for my niece's wedding, She and her husband are in their 20s ( so definitely not dinos themselves!) but they had a dinosaur theme to their invitations and favours etc , which gave me the idea for the card.  I cut the dinosaurs and hearts on my Silhouette machine and printed the sentiment from my PC.

Butterfly Summer

 

Here, I made a watercolour smooshed background , stamped and masked the butterfly, stamped the flowers and sentiment, added splatters and some patterned paper and stuck on a card base.

Unfortunately, the weather in south-east England this weekend has failed to meet my expectations :) so I've spent some time crafting, and staying out of the wind. 

Here I used two sets of old stamps - I think they were both Papermania.

I made this birthday card for my niece. I had to make her a stepper card as I'd made this one for her twin. They are mid-twenties and live in different towns but I still felt it wouldn't be 'fair' to give one twin a fun fold and the other a plain rectangle!!!

Anyway, this one's very personal as my niece has a Portugese Podengo and so I googled it and cut a silhouette out on my Silhouette Cameo. Now I'm worried it's not 'fair' as her twin's card didn't have a personal twist! Minefield.

Here's a 60th birthday card, using a guinea pig stamp from Colorado Craft. The hats are paper-pieced, using the reverse of the paper on the panels.

The Library - Life and Loves of a She Devil

The new challenge at The Library is The Life and Loves of a She Devil by Fay Weldon. 

Although I choose the books for The Library, I must confess, I haven't read them all. But this one I have definitely read, although years ago now, and LOVED. I also loved the 80s UK TV series. I feel sure I've seen the movie, with Roaseanne Barr and Meryl Streep, but I don't really remember that and I read it's not as faithful to the book. 

Anyway, my one-layer card was inspired by the lighthouse and the blue and white colour scheme. The stamps are Hero Arts and the circular sentiment is Upsy Daisy .

Inkspirational - Travel Moodboard

 

Our new challenge at Inkspirational  is to be inspired by this moodboard:

For my DT card I was inspired by the luggage, the camera nd the general travel theme. 

I die- cut a side stepper card and decorate it using scrapbooking supplies: patterned paper, an echo park die-cut (car) and a sticker (camera),  The stamped sentiment is by Mama Elephant.

Christ-mouse Card

 

I designed and cut the MERRY on the Silhouette Cameo but I was very much inspired by a MFT die which is similar. The mice stamps are by Waffle Flower. I agonised over what colour to make their jumpers - I didn't want red because then the scarves wouldn't stand out but I also didn't want to introduce a new colour, so I went for grey to match their fur!  For the snow, I used a stencil and white ink , plus some drops of liquid white enamel.

Grey Balloon

 I don't know why I coloured the balloon grey - I just like grey and yellow together! This is another card to send to guests who came to our Civil Partnership. The couple is by A Muse , the balloon is Clearly Besotted and the sun and sentiment are from other sets,
