City Crafter Challenge Blog - # Selfie

This week at City Crafter , Kirsty wants us to include a selfie or the word 'selfie'.

For my DT project I used a photo that isn't the clearest photo, but that for me captures the feeling of being at a summer evening open-air rock concert.  Unfortunatley my title didn't photograph well either - it was cut on the Silhouette from floral paper and mounted on a silver outline - it says 'uplifted' - but I think it's hard to tell in the photo.

Our Guest Designer today is Mariken  so I hope you'll come over to City Crafter and see what she and the rest of the DT have made, and enter your own selfie themed project.

Inkspirational Challenges - Glamour

This is my DT card for our new challenge at Inkspirational.
I used a polymer stamp from A Day for Daisies - I know you can get this same image on a digital stamp but for a while she was selling stamp sets although I don't think she does anymore.  Then I just piled on the bling, feathers...anything I thought was glamorous!

Our Guest Designer this week is Joyce, so I hope you'll come over to Inkspirational and see what she, and the rest of the DT have made, and join in with your own glamorous project.

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Pencil Me In

I've chosen this week's challenge theme at City Crafter and it is:
Pencil Me In
use a pencil either on or used to make your project.
I have only bought one coloured pencil - a white one - but I have a small selection of pencils that were all free with magazines and are a slightly strange range of colours. I've been trying to use them lately, to see if coloured pencils are something I want to invest in.

My favourite way of colouring images is with markers, but these don't work on black card, so I thought I'd try coloured pencils for this.

I white embossed the Penny Black dogs stamp and coloured it with the pencils. the small sentiment is by Avery Elle and I think the large sentiment is by Woodware.

Our Guest Designer this week is Gio, so I hope you'll come over to City Crafter, see what she and the rest of the DT have done , and enter your own pencil-themed project.

Guest Designer at Snarky Stampers

I'm honoured today to be Guest Designer at Snarky Stampers!  The theme is

Although it's not obligatory, I always enjoy the humour on many of the creations at Snarky Stampers. I thought I'd have a go at making a little pun/joke on my card - I do realise it's a bit lame!

Anyway,  I used 9 separate stamps here (2 different Clearly Besotted sets and the globe from Katzelcraft) , so had to mask like crazy. Of course this was not my first attempt! Actually on one of the discarded attempts I had stamped all but the girl in the middle and mucked it up with that final stamp. Maybe it's time to invest in a Misti!

I hope you'll join me by entering into Snarky Stampers 'A is for Argggh' challenge .

Thank you so much for inviting me to be GD.

Here's the first card from my card kit swap  with Nonni and Pia.

The items from the kit were the angels ( with a stamped post-it to mask them with) and the off-white woodgrain paper at the back. I made a moon with a circular mask and distress ink, coloured and glittered the angels and stamped the French sentiment.

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Turning a New Leaf

This week at City Crafter, Stella  has challenged us to add a leaf or leaves.

For my DT project I used a very old stamp by PSX (long gone I think ) , and embossed it using copper ep. Then I painted it with Twinkling H2Os so it shimmers in real life.  I stamped the poem - I believe it's all about the beauty of nature , so I thought it would go well.

Our Guest Designer this week is Agnes so I hope you'll come over to City Crafter, see what she and the rest of the DT have made, and enter your own project.

Happy Birthday Yvonne

Happy Birthday to Yvonne, my lovely teammie at Inkspirational.  I hope this card has reached her, or will get there very soon.

As I made this a few weeks ago I can't remember exactly what I used! I used some kind of watercolours on the background - I used a Stampin Up layering flowers set and stamped them using the paints. I used either Brushos or Twinkling H20s or possibly both- Yvonne, if it shimmers, it's Twinkling H20s.!

The script stamp is an old unmounted, Brand unknown, and the fairy was an old magazine freebie. There are 3 sequins but they don't show up well in the photo. So, this is not a very illuminating description is it?!

Yvonne, I hope you have a lovely day.

City Crafter - Inspiration Photo

For my DT card I used the stripes, flowers and some of the colours from the photo, using patterned papers and a fox stamp that is from a very old magazine freebie stamp set.

This week, our Guest Designer is my dear friend Nonni , so I hope you will come over to City Crafter and see what she, and the rest of the DT have made, and join in with your own creation.

Falalalala - Conquering Paper Mountain #12

Between Brusho backgrounds and 'lots of white space' , I've not been doing so well lately with reducing my paper mountain.  So here, I am trying to use up a Christmas paper pad by matting onto patterned paper and using it to paper-piece.

I know it's hard to see but I used the sketch at 52 CCT  in deciding how to stamp my carolling characters.  I think the bear is proudly singing loud and clear at the front, unaware he is drowning out his smaller companions! They are from a set by Avery Elle. The music stamp behind them is a very old one from Toybox. I sprayed the panel with green mist.

The sentiment (if you can call falalalala a sentiment!) was designed and cut on the Silhouette electronic die-cutter.

As well as 52CCT , I'd like to enter:
