Something New

This is a birthday card I've made for a book-loving friend, but it could also represent a new hobby for me in 2024. A few weeks ago I was trying to find a real-life (as in, not online!) book club in my local area and I couldn't find one that met outside working hours... but I did make contact with another local woman who was interested too and we have set up one ourselves! We had our first meeting on 22nd December to choose a book and so, hopefully this will be a fun activity for me in the coming year.

Anyway, my card...it's a z-fold (I think it's called that). I stamped the book shop and the book cart (Purple Onion - new stamp! ) and the ground (MFT) and coloured them with markers. The woman is from Stamping Bella and I paper-pieced her scarf and coloured her with markers.

I'd like to enter:

Little Red Wagon  new

I Spy with my Little Eye something old (Stamping Bella stamp)/ something new (Purple Onion stamp)

Krafty Chicks  stamps

Sweet Stampin  what's new with you

This is super cute Marina! You are such a pro in paper piecing, I should remember that technique, it's just so pretty and fun! Congrats on your book club, I once took part in one (in a town where I used to live) and it sure was fun and helped me in finding new good books to read. xxx Oh and thank you for joining our challenge at Time Out!

Marina, your book-themed card is absolutely awesome! Love the book shop and your pretty girl, complete with her wonderful paper-pieced scarf! You friend will be thrilled with this!
Great to hear you've found a book club friend in your area. What's on your reading list? I'm currently enjoying cozy mysteries with, if you can believe it, Christmas-type themes. Not exactly 'intellectual' but fun!
