Inkspirational Challenges - Paper Piecing

Our new challenge at Inkspirational  is my own 'Designer's Choice' - Paper Piecing.

Paper piecing is usually thought of as 'colouring in' stamped images by cutting out patterned paper. I think though there is an older definition of using different papers to 'piece together' an image.

For my DT card, I used some (very old!) patterned paper to 'colour in' a floral stamped image and added black dimensional drops (Nuvo?) to add back the flower centres. I used markers to colour in the rest of the image and added a die-cut sentiment.

I'd like to enter:

It looks great and I like how the stripes go the other way for the flowers.

Your paper pieced flowers card is beautiful, Marina. Carrying the pattern onto the border adds to the prettiness.
In my search for paper piecing definitions, I came across several quilting tutorials, where fabric is 'paper pieced' to create an image. Maybe I'll try that direction for my reminder card (provided my mojo gets its engine started....). Wonderful inspiration for your DC challenge!

Beautifully put together and using the PP in the way you did makes the flowers unique. I like how the background and the flowers are oriented differently. Thanks for joining us at MMM, Johanna DT

Fabulous card, how clever using the same paper for your flowers as the background!

I was not surprised to see you choose paper piecing as you designer’s choice, and I love that you did. Because I consider you the queen of paper piecing and I also love using the technique but it’s been a while since I last used it. Beautiful and fun effect with the stripes!
