Inkspirational - Numbers

 

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is ....Numbers. 

For my DT card, I've shared this card I made for my grandson's birthday. For international visitors, 18 is the age of majority in the UK and the age at which you can legally buy alcohol. I used an SVG electronic cutting file of a crate of beer but I made a few changes. I added hearts to the bottle necks and replaced the sentiment(which was for Father's Day) with a big 18 and, for fun, the safety warning 'Please drink responsibly'.

Monkeying

 

It's great to see a new challenge - A Barrel of Monkeys  - and it's based around children's toys and games. 

First up is the game 'A Barrel of Monkeys' - I've not heard of this game before but that didn't stop me going off on a search for a monkey stamp. Found it!- from a MFT set 'Jungle Vibes' - but now my craft room is a right mess! 

This is a one-layer-card . I masked the monkey and repeatedly stamped the Neat and Tangled falling circles stamp. Finally, I coloured in the monkey, stamped the musical notes and sentiment.

Is F1 a sport? My son, who received this card for his 16th birthday a few weeks ago, tells me it is! 

I used a F1 car SVG cutting file and designed and cut the stepper and sentiment on my Silhouette digital die-cutter.

Inkspirational Challenges - Stitching

 

I'm delighted to be back at Inkspirational, after a break, and our new challenge is:

Formy DT card, I used Altenew Striped Florals coloured with markers. and two different stitched dies.  For the kraft panel, I used a white gel pen with the stitched die, so give the look of white thread.

Pink Christmassy Trees

 

I do love pink on a Christmas card...for this I used a Neat and Tangled stamp, coloured with markers and masked. Then I stencilled the background and added some (subtle!) silver stencilled stars.

Balloon and hearts

 I was inspired by the book cover at Once Upon a Time Challenges : I love the combination of grey and yellow, 

This image is one of my favourite images from A Day for Daisies, which closed down long ago, I coloured it with markers, used grey ink to stencil some clouds, paper appliqued the balloon , stamped and embossed a sentiment and added a border of washi tape.

Hearts for a Daughter

 

My daughter's birthday is Valentine's Day , so I often make her a birthday card with a hearts theme. (It's okay, she doesn't follow my blog!) 

I designed and cut these circles with heart cut-outs on my |Silhouette digital cutting machine. I put patterned paper, with XOX on it, behind. I stuck them on with foam pads and added pearls and a stamped sentiment.

Christmas Sticker

 

Jingle Bells  have a great challenge right now - use stickers! I was intending to use some of my many old stickers left over from scrapbooking kits but,on my way to find them, I came across some metallic peel-offs and thought it'd be fun to use one.

I stuck the sticker onto black card and coloured some of the snow with a gel pen. I cut an aperture in a white card and covered it with snowfall acetate. Then I stuck the panel behind. Finally, I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white.

So, this is the first card I made in my new crafts room ....

I used a Taylored Expressions stamp, masked the balloons and stencilled clouds. Then I coloured the image with markers and added a sentiment and strip of patterned paper.

Winter Trees

 

Hi Everyone. I'm back after a bit of a break from my blog. I moved house a few days before Christmas and I'm now setting up my new crafts room and rediscovering my stash, which has been in storage for a year. 

This card, however, was made in my temporary flat using the limited stash I had with me. I used light blue ink through a stencil on a blue card. I added white gel pen snow (or does it look a bit too much like sleet?!) , 3 gems and a Christmas sentiment.
