Inkspirational Mood Board

Our final Inkspirational challenge of 2023 is to be inspired by this moodboard:

For my DT card, I stamped and embossed a firework sky and designed and cut a sentiment on a Silhouette digital cutter.

I hope you'll go along to Inkspirational and see what the rest of the DT have made and join in the challenge.

Winter Hamlet

In 2016 I made a little Christmas village  which I have got out every year and even added some extra buildings and trees, This year I decided to make a new settlement for my mantlepiece. The buildings are bigger than the village but there are only three of them. I used Silhouette digital cutting files and just changed the colours I chose. They are a little rickety in places but, hopefully, that adds to the charm!

I Ran Out of Christmas Cards!

I ran out of Christmas cards and I needed one quick!  Luckily I'd previously printed and cut out this digi penguin and the patterned papers were hanging around on my desk. So all  I had to do was colour the penguin, stamp a sentiment and stick it together.

This naughty boy decided to sit on my Christmas cards .

Inkspirational Challenges - Celebrate

Our new challenge at Inkspirational  is:

In the midst of the Christmas preparations, I find myself scrabbling around for birthday cards for those people who inconveniently were born in December! I made this one with a Silhouette cutting file,  balloon and spot stamps and different coloured inks.

I hope you'll go and see the DTs fabulous work and join in the challenge.

Inkspirational Challenges - Add Glitter

Pia has chosen our new challenge at Inkspirational, and that is to add glitter.

I would say , at Christmastime, that's not TOO challenging - the challenge is to get a photo of it!😊

For my DT card I used two dies - the sky, and the village- which I cut out of glitter cardstock. I think the glittered cardstock shows up well and maybe you can also see a hint of glitter in the embossing of the 'Merry' sentiment.

I hope you'll join us.

Faux Linocut Robin

I love the look of linocuts but I don't have the skills to make them myself - so I was glad to find this linocut style Robin from Hobby Art. I made the background with 3 stencils - a circle, rays and snowfall.

I sprayed watercolour paper with water and then stamped using pink metallic acrylic paint and two Clarity Stamps pine trees. Then I splattered it with gesso and added silver glitter blobs and a sentiment.

Neutral Birthday

It's another (yet another!) rainy day in the south of England , so a perfect time to take part in some challenges.

Here, I stencilled three rectangles onto a linen textured card, die cut foliage out of pearl cardstock and a vase out of spotty/stripy paper, and stamped a birthday sentiment.

Inkspirational Challenges - Seasonal

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

I've chosen winter but you can choose any season you like.

I must admit, this is a very typical Christmas card for me - I've made many cards with deer silhouettes and still the enjoyment hasn't faded! This time, the twist is that the background is a gold-embossed Hero Arts stamp.

I hope you'll pop over to Inkspirational, see what the rest of the DT have made and add your own seasonal creation.

Inkspirational Challenges - Moodboard

Our new challenge at Inkspirational  is to be inspired by this moodboard:

I took inspiration from the chalkboard and the foliage. The seniment is Concord and 9th and the foliage is stamps that came 'free' with a magazine recently - I white embossed them and coloured them with colouring pencils.

Please go and take a look at the great variety of ways the rest of the DT were inspired, and join in with your own creation.

 - Traditional colours - red and green, give a cozy glow but I like to add something a bit more unexpected too, like the black and white.

Iced Coffee

This little snowman is holding a coffee cup- but, don't worry, it only hold iced coffee, so he won't melt.

The circle is a snow/stars coverplate, cut into a circle and I used Promarkers to colour the snowman.
