Christmas Gifts

I mentioned in an earlier post that I went on holiday and took one bag of  craft stuff with me. The bag included a handful of stamps, die cuts and scraps left from previous projects and two pencil cases : one with alcohol markers, the other with Zig Clean Color waterbased markers.

The first card is a one-layer-card , using a Purple Onion image, coloured with watrbased markers.

I'd like to enter this to:

For the second card, I used the same image with alcohol markers and cut it out. The base was folded ages ago, when I'd intended to use it for a bridge card but decided it was too small. I added patterned paper and a sentiment.

Thanks from the Cat

I just got back from a week in Cornwall, where we stayed in a cabin in a forest (not as remote as it sounds!) I took one bag of craft stuff with me, to keep myself amused while my partner and son enjoyed their lie-ins. It really stimulated my crafty mojo to create with limited supplies.

Here, the trellis and the white panel were die-cut before I left home. The flower image was a leftover from  a 'kit' sent to me many years ago when I did a 'challenge' with my crafty friends Pia and Nonni.

I cut the flowers out, coloured them with Clear Colour markers and added Nuvo glitter drops to the middles.

So, when I got home, I already had a card to give to my MIL to say thanks for feeding the cat.

Inkspirational Challenges - Woodland

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

Now, when you look at my card,  you may think - Oh, where are the trees? My original design had a stencilled trees background but that didn't work out so I hope you can accept that these are woodland creatures and the trees are obscured by the snow.

I stamped and embossed Avery Elle Peaceful Frame in white on kraft, and hand-cut it out. Then I stamped a Concord and 9th sentiment onto a white panel and splattered it with Frantage embossing - I was channeling my lovely teamie, Pia, here- she always inspires me with Frantage. Finally, I added gold glitter and white pen highlights to the image.

Tiger

I'm not very good with layering stamps - especially flower ones - but this two-step layering set from Hero is very easy to use and I love the effect. I drew a little path for the tiger to walk on!

Inkspirational Challenges : Stencils and paste

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

...with an optional extra challenge of using paste,

Some time ago, I played around with stencils and metallic gilding paste on black card and then looked at it and didn't know what to do with it. So I pulled it out last week to use for this challenge- and I looked at it and didn't know what to do with it! But after nearly giving up I suddenly thought - what about going CAS?

So, here it is. I found a circle die that sat just within a circular sentiment stamp, cut a part circle and stamped the sentiment round it, Is it odd? I'm not sure but I actually like it.

Inkspirational Challenges - Mood Board

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

For my DT project I made a card for my niece's new baby boy. I was inspired by the colours and the bunting on the mood board. The background is a big Catherine Pooler stamp and the band members are My Favorite Things. The sentiments are Happy Little Stampers and the bunting is a Mama Elephant stamp.

Inkspirational Challenges - Frame

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

For my DT card I used a circular sentiment stamp as a frame. I created a (very basic!) snowy scene inside and then added a Mo's Digital Pencil digi , coloured with markers, coming out of the frame. Finally I added more gel pen snowflakes.
