Chickens

My daughter asked me to make a card for her to give to a colleague who is having time off for cancer treatment. She described the woman as an 'earth mother', who's very nurturing of the team, bakes for them and keeps chickens at home. She asked for no sentiment on the front.

Inspired by the chickens, I found some images online and traced them in Silhouette Studio, welding on the curved ground and cutting it electronically.  For te background I used homemade sun and cloud stencils. I distressed some patterned paper and doodled faux stitches. Finally, I added a resin heart.

I'd like to enter:

Love this card, especially the silhouette chickens. So many people are getting into raising chickens or is it being able to gather their own eggs. We have the space just haven't joined the chicken bandwagon yet. Great card.

I always love the challenging themes your daughter gives you and how you seem to find the perfect solution every time. I think this design is quite unique with the silhouette chickens standing in front of the beautiful morning sunrise or evening sunset. And the faux stitched paper gives your card a lovely rustic feel.

How stunning, I like that you did the clouds in yellow to reflect the sun shine.
