Empty Box Project #10 and two that didn't make it.

When I stamped this leaf from a 'free-with-magazine' set from my 'empy box project' box, it really reminded me of designs on the crockery we had in my 70's childhood - and I don't suppose it was very fashionable even then.

I coloured the leaf in with slightly muddy shades of yellow and green - I'll call them avocado and mustard to keep with the retro theme!  The sentiment was from another set and I embossed  a piece of card for the background in a retro pattern.

(What's the difference between retro and vintage? Retro is anything within your own lifetime!)

Just to recap:
On New Year's day I revealed my stamping shame - a big box of unused stamps - and started my Empty Box project. My aim is to work through the box , one stamp/ stamp set at a time and see if I can use them. If I can't use them, I will dispose of them. The aim is to finish with an empty box.

Sadly, I had a few items that didn't make it to the final cut,..both magazine freebies.

The stamps on this one had stuck so hard that I ripped one trying to take it off the acetate packaging- they were binned.
They look lovely on the packaging, but quite muddy when stamped, so I just couldn't see what I could do with them. If anyone (UK only for postage costs) wants to give them a good home, please leave me a comment. Otherwise I'll keep the sentiments and bin the rest.

I'd like to enter my card into:
Time Out Challenges  photo.  Influenced by the frames for the embossing and round the leaf.
Less is More yellow and green

What a beautiful card Marina and it is stunning stamp that you found in your stash. Sorry about the ones that didn't make. I am sure I have lots of those if I ever get around to sorting them out

Your card does look retro, a style I've always loved and my mother can't stand. I'm happy to see it's becoming quite fashionable again. But I'd hate to see a new 90s vibe, shudder. I think it all depends on what was 'in' at a certain stage in life.
I have this stamp set, haven't used it, I have no other explanation than that I've forgotten about it, because I love the design of this set!
