Cats and Ticking

Here's another cat card , but with a different style. I put this one together using things from one of my bits bags. I printed, cut and coloured the cats ages ago (probably years tbh!) then didn't know what to do with them. Playing around with scraps I found this stripy paper - it reminds me of mattress ticking - and liked the combo.

Smudge and the Gang

 

I made this card earlier in the year but didn't blog it at the time- some recent cat-themed challenges have nudged me to post the photo. 

So, to recap on my life... in early January last year we'd agreed a sale on our house, ready to relocate to a new town, when the house we were buying fell through. We had to find quickly somewhere to rent but , unfortunately, couldn't find anywhere where we could take our cat, Smudge. Luckily, my daughter offered to foster him till we found a new house. That took a year! Now he's back with us and settled into our new home, This is the card I sent to my daughter to say thank you. 

The cats are one long stamp and I just had to add some markings and colour it in. The arms with the signs are stamped in afterwards and the sentiments stamped on the signs. Finally, I added some stamped splodges.

Inkspirational Word Prompt - Mini

 

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is: 

Pretty much as soon as I saw this word prompt I thought ....mini skirt!  I had a few stamps in mind I thought might work, but when I found them, I realised the skirts were too long. So eventually I found a Lettering Delights dingbat font with this silhouette , cut it out on my Silhouette electronic die-cutting machine and made a mini- dress out of patterned paper. To give a Carnaby Street feel, I stamped the London buses and taxis.

Party Cat

 Here's a card I made with random stuff I had on hand. The cat is a digistamp I printed but never used - I coloured it with markers. The balloon sentiment is a Craftwork cards stamp. The background was made one day when I was playing with watercolours.

Christmas Craft Creations - Still Guest Designer

 

This is my second post for Christmas Craft Creations , where I'm proud to be Guest Designer this month.

For this card, I used a very , very old wood-backed stamp by Inkadinkado. It's a humorous take on Leonardo Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man  drawing. I stamped the image in red and then used a paintbrush and water to pull the ink inside the lines and colour it in, I inked and distressed the edges and mounted it on a panel which was inked and stamped with old writing.

Inkspirational - Dots and Stripes

 

Our new challenge at Inkspirational  has been chosen by Nonni and she's chosen:

For my DT card I made a background using Reverse Confetti circle stamps, using black and yellow inks. I used a Gerda Steiner image , coloured with markers and added some extra spots to the helmet. I also used a die-cut cloud and a stamped sentiment.

 Here I used some Altenew stamps, coloured with Zig Clean markers and a background of  a Hero Arts Bold Print, which I think gives a hint of sunshine and an echo of the snail's tail. Hope it doesn't make it too un-cas for the challenge I want to enter:

Magic Gnome

 Here's my Christmas gnome who's magically hovering in the woodland. I achieved this effect by stamping and masking the gnome (Reverse Confetti) and then misjudging the position of the Woodware background as I stamped it on top. Maybe, if I keep quiet, no-one will notice???!!

Guest Designer at Christmas Craft Creations

This month, I'm proud to be Guest Designer at Christmas Craft Creations  and it's happy blogaversary to them, as this month marks 3 years of great challenges. 

This month's theme is 'Humour'. 

For my card I used a cute dog stamp by Avery Elle and paper-pieced his scarf in Christmas patterned paper. Then, I printed out everyone's favourite Home Alone quote. I hope you see the humour in this!

 Our new challenge at Inkspirational  is to make a Clean and Simple card with the optional twist of Sunshine or Rain.
