Pink and Grey

 

This week I went back into my workplace (a college) for the first time since March - I was actually glad to be back and I'll be working a mix of at home and in college from now on.  What better way to relax after a day's work than to make a card?

Here I used a Penny Black stamp, stamped in grey ink and coloured with Promarkers. The sentiment and the extra leaves and flowers are from a Craftwork Cards set and I used a long-neglected border punch.

Llama for a Baby

 

My daughter gave me very specific instructions for a card she wanted me to make for her friend's new baby : it had to have a llama and the baby's name and birth stats. 

This was a job for my Silhouette Cameo digital cutter! I don't have any llama stamps or cutting files but I found a llama clipart on my PC and traced, layered and cut it out , incorporating the baby's name. 

This is the clipart I used.

As a basis for my card shape, I used a Lori Whitlock cutting file that I've adapted several times before to make these kind of box pop-up cards. I traced  a cactus from the same clipart set and cut it twice , one time, with the birth stats. Finally, I stamped and embossed the three sentiments, all from different sets.

Following on from my earlier post , here's another card I made using the Wplus 9 set and bits I took on holiday with me last week. In addition to paper, stamps and ink, I used black liquid enamel.

Last week I was on holiday in Devon and , in my baggage, I had a few crafting bits. This was made using a W plus 9  stamp set (the sentiment is from a Marianne set) , stamped using two colours of Zig Clean Colour markers.  I have another card I made on holiday using this set and I'll post it separately...

It's gone pear-shaped

 

What's a pear got to do with Christmas? Probably nothing, but I do have a pear-shaped tree ornament. 

I always enjoy a challenging challenge and, at CAS Christmas the challenge is the 12 Days of Christmas, so this pear is from the partridge's tree.  I stamped it in Delicata gold ink and then inked up a script stamp and stamped it onto the pear before stamping the pear again (I think it's called kissing). Both the pear and script stamp are very old UMs, brand unknown. 

Then I stamped and gold embossed a Hero Arts sentiment and added everything to a mirror gold panel, embossed using a folder. 

As I used a script stamp (words) I'd also like to enter Try it on Tuesday.

Here I stamped a Waffle Flower stamp onto kraft and coloured it with pencils. I added snow with a white gel pen.

Here I used a very old magazine freebie image, stamped onto a masked and inked background. Then I added a get well sentiment.

The Library Challenge - The Fault In Our Stars

The new book at The Library , is The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.

I read this book last year - it's Young Adult fiction about teenage cancer survivors and it's clever and entertaining. 

For my first card (top) I was inspired by the title and the cover. At first glance it might appear to be a new baby card, but look at the sentiment..... This was a commission from my daughter who is a midwife and wanted a congratulations card for her colleague who's been promoted in the maternity department. The stork and clouds were cut on Silhouette digital cutter , the stars are a dry embossing folder and the 'shine' sentiment is from a Pinkfresh set.
