The Library Challenge - The Girl on the Train

The new challenge at The Library   is The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.

The Girl on the Train (Movie Tie-In) By Paula Hawkins | Used - Very Good | 9780735212169 | World of Books
This is a 'grip lit' book that I really enjoyed reading. The film was okay too but I thought it was a shame that they moved the story from the familiar to me setting in England, to the US.

I know this is a more challenging theme - I hope somebody takes up the challenge!

For my first card (above) I was inspired by her peeping round the door and used the peeking Santa stamp, coloured in with Promarkers and a scrap of paper.

I'd like to enter the Santa card into:

For my second card I was inspired by the word 'train' and used this digi from Mo's Digital Pencil. I coloured it with markers and paper-pieced the clothes, adding some shading. I stamped the sentiment and mounted onto patterned paper and a grey base.

I'd like to enter this into :

Library Reminder - A Child's Garden of Verses

I made another card for The Library challenge theme and , like the card I posted on the original challenge post, I used another image from A Day for Daisies AND paper-piecing again! This time, I printed a verse from the book onto my card.

Watercolour and Doodles

This was inspired by a watercolour artist I saw on Youtube and I thought this'd work as a card, following the sketch at CASE this sketch. I'd also like to enter the cas challenge at Krafty Chicks.

I painted the 'squares' and then doodled leaves/petals and coloured them with gold watercolours. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.

Merry Animals

I hope this photo shows as I think Blogger is playing up today. Some of my photos seem to be missing and I've noticed this on other people's blogs too. Hopefully it'll get sorted soon.

Here's a Christmas card I made with some Flora and Fauna stamps, a Concord and 9th sentiment and some paper scraps.

Inkspirational Challenges - Paint Splatters

Our new challenge at Inkspirational was chosen by Nonni, and she wants to see paint splatters.  I always admire how Nonni uses paint splatters on her beautiful floral cards. So I hope she won't arrest me when she discovers that , strictly speaking, my splatters are ink rather than paint.

I used a Kanban flower stamp and Mama Elephant sentiment.

A Spoonful of Sugar...

This weekend, crafting has been the spoonful of sugar that's helped the (lockdown) medicine go down!

At Twofer , the challenge is to use a rain or umbrella stamp and I did spend some time thinking about this, looking at various stamps etc until this unmounted Mary Poppins stamp (Lost Coast , I think) came to mind.

My first card was inspired by the sketch and 'it flies' theme at AAA Cards . I stamped the top half of the stamp in pink and then printed a computer -made sentiment over the top.

I'd also like to enter this card into:
Always Fun  cas

For my second card I stamped the rainbow(Clearly Besotted) and city (Concord and 9th) and created a rainbow background effect using Distress Ink pads. I stamped Mary Poppins over the top and then embossed 'magical' (cut from a MFT sentiment) in white ep. (This was quite nerve-wracking after all the time I'd spent on the rainbow - things do quite often go wrong for me when I try last minute sentiment things!) Finally , I stamped 'birthday wishes' in a tiny font at the bottom.

I'd also like to enter:
Little Red Wagon  Mix em up - I used stamps from five different companies on this one!

The Library Challenge - A Child's Garden of Verses

The new challenge at The Library  is A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson. As a child, I received this book in my Christmas stocking and I still have that copy , although it's very ragged! I spotted a copy of the same edition in a charity shop and few years ago and bought it, but for some reason I haven't thrown out my old copy!

For my card, I used an image from A Day for Daisies , coloured with Promarkers and paper-pieced, then stamped a birthday sentiment.

Panda and Kite

Despite it being a beautiful sunny day, I've been struggling to photograph this without shadows, strange colours etc. But I mustn't grumble - I have a garden to enjoy during lockdown and all my friends and family are well .

I made this card to enter several challenges. The panda is Wplus9 and the kite and tail are October Afternoon. I doodled the spots and stripes on the kite and some ground for the bear to stand on.

I'd like to enter:
