Crafty Crafting Away - The Corner Adorner Kit

We went on holiday to Cornwall. We hired a 'woodland lodge' and my partner drove there. I always get up early, regardless of being on holiday but my 10 year-old (allowed to stay up late) and my partner do not. Therefore, I can have several hours of being alone in the mornings. So I sneaked a bag of craft stuff into the car to keep me happy while the others slept.

I took some basics and then made up three 'card kits' based on the kind of kits they can get in the US and I love to watch on You Tube.  Here's the first kit, based on this kit by Simon Says Stamp.

Includes Lil Inker Corner Adorner Set, and Prima papers.
Here's what I made:

Here I stamped the Lil' Inker flower stamp in Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink on watercolour paper and used water to pull the ink colour onto the flowers. I used green Zig Clean Colour markers as watercolour to colour the leaves. I broke a nail distressing the edges!  The sentiment is Hero Arts and I splattered it with black mist.

I'd like to enter:

I stamped and embossed the flowers in black, the sentiment (Hero) was stamped in gold ink and I used some Prima paper.
I'd like to enter:
Shopping Our Stash  gold embossing is quite Posh isn't it?
Sweet Stampin  flowers

Here I did loads of paper piecing with the papers and the butterfly was cut from them too. I coloured the other flowers and leaves with neutral coloured Promarkers.

I'd like to enter:
Simply Create Too flowers
Crafty Gals Corner  bingo - flowers, free, 2plus patterned papers.

I'd spotted the challenge at Make My Monday - Pink and Grey , so here I used pink and grey Promarkers. The 'thanks' was one of two sentiments I cut and took with me - I coloured it grey and then added clear sparkle on top.

Yes, I did stamp the (Heidi Swapp) sentiment like that deliberately - and no, I don't know what I was thinking! I had kind of run out of ideas for what to do with the flowers! This time I gold embossed them and coloured them with Zig Clean Colour Markers , which I then sprayed with water.

And here's a little snap of my holiday craft space:

I will post what I made with my other 'kits' later.

  10. This is inspiring! Same stamp and completely different looks! The one with the gold image looks very elegant and I also love the look of the one with paper pieced flowers in peachy colors with black frame. But each card is beautiful in its own way.
