A Spoonful of Sugar...

This weekend, crafting has been the spoonful of sugar that's helped the (lockdown) medicine go down!

At Twofer , the challenge is to use a rain or umbrella stamp and I did spend some time thinking about this, looking at various stamps etc until this unmounted Mary Poppins stamp (Lost Coast , I think) came to mind.

My first card was inspired by the sketch and 'it flies' theme at AAA Cards . I stamped the top half of the stamp in pink and then printed a computer -made sentiment over the top.

I'd also like to enter this card into:
Always Fun  cas

For my second card I stamped the rainbow(Clearly Besotted) and city (Concord and 9th) and created a rainbow background effect using Distress Ink pads. I stamped Mary Poppins over the top and then embossed 'magical' (cut from a MFT sentiment) in white ep. (This was quite nerve-wracking after all the time I'd spent on the rainbow - things do quite often go wrong for me when I try last minute sentiment things!) Finally , I stamped 'birthday wishes' in a tiny font at the bottom.

I'd also like to enter:
Little Red Wagon  Mix em up - I used stamps from five different companies on this one!

  3. Both of these cards are wonderful, Marina. I love the lined cityscape on the rainbow card, and the one with the pink silhouette is super FABULOUS!!!! I went right to the Lost Coast store and bought that stamp. Thanks for the inspiration. We can all use a little Mary Poppins right about now!

  7. I love Mary Poppins. Don't you just wish she would fly over and sweep away all this virus stuff? That rainbow effect and the city silhouette are fabulous and do make you think of magic. Cute one too with her peeping up from the bottom of the card.

  12. It's obvious your Twofer designs were well thought out, Marina, and Mary Poppins with her iconic brolly is a fabulous star on both of your designs! I love the simple superetc perfect take on the sketch for your first card and you did a rainbow delight of a card for your second one! I so understand what you mean about the nerve-wracking last bit with the sediment on a card I've worked hard on. Sometimes I think, oh, I'll just wing this last bit without the MISTI and then I remember the old days when it all went horribly wrong, lol! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #26! Take care and stay safe! Hugs, Darnell

  15. These are two fun cards and your rainbow card is so beautiful. I know what you mean about the last minute. I have ruined so many cards after hard work by doing something that messed up the whole thing.

  19. I have a Mr version of this stamp, sort of, and it’s from Lost Coast. These are two brilliant designs. So clever of you to use part of the stamp to fit in with the CAS sketch. And cool with the own made sentiment. As for the rainbow card, Wow. How did you even dare try the embossing? Luckily it went well. I know exactly what you mean on how things can go wrong as you’re approaching the stage of finishing touches ....
