The Library Challenge - Egg Drop

The new challenge at The Library  is Egg Drop by Mini Grey . When my son (now 13) was small we used to love reading Mini Grey's funny and beautifully illustrated books. ( My favourite is The Adventures of the Dish and Spoon).

I stamped and coloured (with Promarkers)  the hens from Newton's Nook - the sentiment is by Heffy Doodle. I'm ridiculously proud of my grassy border.... I repeatedly partially stamped an egg from the NN set and then drew (yes, that's right I drew!) the grass around them. Mini Grey better watch out...I may be moving into illustration next.... (haha!)

Christmas Drinks

I've been meaning to enter Christmas Kickstart's 'Christmas Cheer' challenge all month but my crafting mojo has been seriously missing. It seems to have popped back this weekend... hope it stays.

I used a non-Christmas stamp by Stamping Bella and tried to make it look like a Christmas stamp.
Originally, she was wearing a sleeveless dress, but I made it into a holly-patterned pinafore and created a long-sleeve red top to go underneath it and keep her cosy.  The sentiments stamps are Alte-New and I added touches of shimmer pen for a bit of sparkle.

As well as Christmas Kickstart, I'd like to enter:

Leftovers

I was inspired, by Little Red Wagon , to dig out my scraps  and put them together.

The cardstock used here (which I have a whole pack of) is a beautiful rich teal, which for some reason, my camera just cannot seem to photograph accurately.  I often have this problem with pinks and purples too.

I'd also like to enter this into the challenge at Give a Crafter a Cookie.

Bright Flowers

Hello everyone. I hope you and your families are able to stay safe and healthy during this crisis and can find some joy in the things we can do, rather than the many things we can't.

Inkspirational Challenges - Chair Photo

At Inkspirational , we have this photo:
I love that mid-century modern style and tried to get the flavour of it onto my card. The stamped pattern came from a freebie fifties-themed stamp set and the plant is by Hero Arts. I embossed the orange panel with a retro design.

The Library Challenge - How to Embroider Almost Anything

The new challenge at The Library is How to Embroider Almost Everything by Wendi Gratz.

How to Embroider Almost Everything
The great thing about this book is that even if you're not good at embroidery, there are loads of motifs on the cover to inspire you. I picked the viking (top left) and used a viking stamp from My Favourite Things. I masked and stamped it three times, coloured with Promarkers and stamped the sentiment (same set).

Inkspirational Challenges - Animal : real or magical

At Inkspirational , Carol has chosen:

For my DT card I used six little mice from a Penny Black set and stamped them onto a one-layer kraft card. I coloured them with pencils and added a Mama Elephant sentiment. Real animals , doing magical things!

I'll be there for you.....

Some people might be surprised to discover how popular 'Friends' is with teenagers right now. My grandson is a big fan. This card , for his fifteenth birthday, took much longer to think up than it did to make. I cut out a photo of the cast and added it to a stepper card.  I downloaded a free font that matches the logo, printed off FIFTEEN and added coloured dots with markers.

The Library Challenge - Ballet Shoes

The new challenge at The Library is Ballet Shoes by Noel Streatfeild.

One of my favourite children's books, I read it again and again.
I believe I read this book as a child - I read lots of Noel Streatfeild's books , although my favourite was Thursday's Child , which I saw on TV and then read.

For my first card (above) I didn't do anything related to ballet at all! The digi, by A Day For Daisies, really reminded me of the cover, so I had fun colouring it with Promarkers and adding a sentiment.

The second card isn't new ...I just didn't have time to make a second card but I wanted to give an example of a totally different take on the book.
