At The Library, the book is Mary Poppins by PL Travers.
Mary Poppins was one of my favourite books as a child and I read all the (many) sequels too - Mary Poppins in the Park is one I remember. I also loved the film - still do! - although I haven't seen the recent film yet. (I do remember the Mary of the book seeming a little less sweet than the movie version).
For my first card I made a colourful background using Distress Inks. I stamped the row of houses twice and cut Mary's silhouette using a free SVG file.
I'd like to enter:
Fab n Funky hats
For my second card I just chose one element of the story and cover - Mary's umbrella. I used a MFT stamp, coloured with Promarkers and paper-pieced, and an Avery Elle sentiment and banner.
I'd like to enter:
Sisterhood of Crafters spring
Seize the Birthday spring
I hope you'll join in the challenge at The Library.

ReplyDeleteOh, love your card with Mary Poppins! One of my favorite films as a child. I haven’t seen the new one yet either, but would like to. Such a fun card! And, second card is adorable and os sweet!
ReplyDeleteSuper adorable!
ReplyDeleteFun card Marina. Love your colour scheme and great take on the challenges. Thanks for joining in the fun at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week. Tristan DT
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards look fab but the first one is pure Mary Poppins and I really like that x
ReplyDeleteI am new to challenges. As a former librarian, I don't think I could find a more perfect challenge. I have a few questions.
ReplyDeleteWhere and how do I post my entry?
How many cards can I enter?
When is the "due date" for my finished project?
Thank-you so much

I love your Mary Poppins card, brought back lovely memories of seeing the original film as a child. We've seen the new film too, although not quite so magical as seeing Mary Poppins as a child. Your second card is super too, I love the paper piecing. xx
ReplyDeleteBoth fabulous cards, love the first one as it is traditional Mary Poppins and the second is so adorable. I am now itching to watch the movie, it has been many years.
ReplyDeleteWay to combine the challenges! I love it! Thanks for playing at Inspired By!
