At The Library , Stef is the Visiting Librarian (Guest Designer) and she's chosen the challenge - Oscar by Mauricio Segura.
I confess - for the first time I've not actually read any of this book - every other book featured at The Library I've read at least excerpts from. But this is a relatively new book, written in French and the translated version is still quite expensive, even for the Kindle version...
I was inspired by the jazz pianist theme , and the cover. I used a very old stamp by Stamps Happen and trimmed it into a loose shape. Then I coloured it using colours from the book cover. I think the image is quite masculine and the colours are more traditionally feminine ...but I must say, most men I know would be relaxed about that sort of thing these days. I added the 'stay cool' sentiment- not sure where it's from.

ReplyDeleteFabulous layout and loving the colours and yes I agree with this being a masculine card and men being more relaxed about it x. Great take on the book cover x.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very interesting stamp and very clever of you to colour part of it. Good colour choices based on the cover of the book. Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It for our back to basics challenge.

ReplyDeleteWow! Such a cool inspiration for a challenge! I really like that image and the concentric circles it's based on! The colours themselves are cool and you've presented the image so well by trimming it out the way you did! Thanks for playing along at As You See It Challenges, and I'm going to have to check out The Library Challenge more often! It intrigues me.
