City Crafter Challenge Blog - Musical Instrument

This week. at City Crafter , Lucille wants us to create a project with a musical instrument on it.

All the stamps I used here (except for the sentiment) are by Clearly Besotted, coloured with Promarkers.

We look forward to seeing your projects for this challenge but please first go over to the blog and see wonderful projects  the rest of the DT have made.

You're so Chill

I made this card to meet a few challenges and since then I've been racked with self-doubt. Is there too much snow for a CAS challenge? Is paper-piecing allowed on a one-layer-card? Oooooh.

The ink I stamped with is actually a dark brown - I had hoped it would come out a bit lighter.  I used mountains by Pink Fresh, bunny from Lil Inkers, a border stamp by Basic Grey and sentiments from Penny Black and Lil Inker. I paper-pieced the hat and scarf - the paper looks plain in the photo but it has a subtle spot pattern irl.

Inkspirational Challenge - Attachment

Our new Inkspirational challenge is the word 'attachment'.

So despite having chosen this word for our word-prompt I hadn't really thought about what I'd do with it . I had a bit of an ideastorm - attaching something to the card; something that attaches like a staple or brad; emotional attachment; wedding; email attachment (not sure where to go with that one); appliance attachment....!!!Yes! Vacuum cleaners come with attachments!

I found an image of a vacuum cleaner online, traced it in Silhouette Studio, cut it out on Silhouette digital cutter and coloured it with markers. The 'when life sucks' bits were printed off and I die cut the 'thanks'.

Please visit us at Inkspirational and see the fabulous creations from our Design Team. Then please join in with your own 'attachment' project.

Glitter Fairy

First card for Christmas 2018- although, to be honest, I made so many last year that I still have some left over!

Here I used a Bugaboo digi and coloured with Promarkers and glitter pens. The sentiment is Penny Black.

Party Time

I used three sets of stamps here - and it was my first inking for them all. As goats seem to love eating, I thought a big mound of fresh hay would feel like a birthday treat to it!

The hay, goat and trough are all from My Favorite Things 'The Whole Herd' . The thought bubble is by Craftwork Cards and the sentiment is from a different Craftwork Cards set. I coloured with Promarkers.

City Crafter Challenge Blog - At the Tearoom

I chose this week's challenge at City Crafter - make a project featuring something you'd find in a tearoom.

For my DT card I used a set by Hunkydory . I digitally traced and cut each cake and sandwich, stamped on the die-cut, coloured them and stuck themonto the stamped cake stand. Then I hand-cut round the whole thing and stuck it onto a doily and a pink cardbase.

We look forward to seeing your projects for this challenge but please first go over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made.

A New Woodland Set

How many woodland-type sets does a girl need? If I ever dug them all out and counted them I'd probably be really embarrassed . So I really resisted getting this new one from My Favorite Things. But in the end I cracked because I haven't got one that is a solid stamp rather than outline - or have I?

Anyway, I made this card to join in a few challenges. The leaf stamp is Alte New and the sentiment is Hero Arts. I cut the frame on the Silhouette and added pink liquid pearls.

It Takes Two

I'm very excited about the new Twofer Challenge  - this one's right up my street and as soon as I heard of it I knew I'd be taking part.

The stamp I chose is a Bo Bunny feather stamp with text on it.

My first card:

Here I used an A Day for Daisies clear stamp , stamped in dark blue and coloured with a single blue Promarker. I traced the feather stamp , and another feather from the same set , in Silhouette Studio and digitally die cut them, then stamped onto the die cut and coloured then with the same Promarker.

The sentiment was just one that was on my desk (from a Woodware set, I think) and I thought it went nicely with the image. I think it could work for a birthday card but also for some other special event like a woman's graduation day , for example.

Finally I added Nuvo drops and then shimmer pen to the birds and some of the feathers.

As well as Twofers, I'd also like to enter this into:
Make My Monday  blue and white
Cardmania monochromatic

For my second card I stamped the lantern (from a different Bo Bunny set) and then stamped the feather inside. I coloured them with water and Lindy's Magicals, which are a powder paint like Brushos but with a shimmer. I cut them out and put them onto a stencilled cardbase and stamped 'thank you'. Then I doodled strings and a frame.

I'd also like to enter this into:

Inkspirational - Violin Photo

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is to be inspired by this photo:

Fot my DT project I used a violinist stamp by Clearly Besotted- the musical notes are from the same set.  The sentiment is Lawn Fawn and I'm not sure where the heart came from. I made the card base from white pearl cardstock, which I embossed.

We have a wonderful Guest Designer, Charlotte ,and I hope you will go  over to the challenge blog and see what she, and the rest of the DT made, before entering your own project.

City Crafter Challenge Blog - All you Need is Love

This week, at City Crafter , Kirsty wants us to use the word Love or a heart on our project.

My DT project is a one layer card using some of my newest stamps . The blender and the punny sentiment are a new-to-me Lawn Fawn set I bought 'pre-loved' on Ebay. The smaller sentiment and the hearts inside are from a recent release Lawn Fawn set. I coloured them with Nuvo glitter pens.

We look forward to seeing your projects for this challenge and I hope you'll go over to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have made.

2018 Colour of the Year

It's official! Violet is the Pantone Colour of the year. (I had to check the spelling of Pantone , so as not to confuse it with a haircare brand!)

Here I stamped and embossed the woman silhouette (Stampin Up) and coloured with water and Brushos in Violent and Purple. Then I stamped and embossed the silver stars (Pink Fresh) - they don't show too well in the photo , but stand out better in real-life because of the shine. Then I stamped the sentiment. (Pink Fresh).

Edited to say - Thanks Sarah for pointing out my error in saying the Brushos were 'Violent and Purple'. It was Violet of course, but I will keep the typo...

New Home on Kraft

My daughter asked me to make this for some friends. (Bet you cant guess their names!). It isn't an entirely original design because it was influenced by a photo she showed me to give me an idea of what she wanted. I don't know whether that card was handmade or mass produced as I don't know where she found it, so sorry I can't credit it. Of course, I hope I've 'made it my own'!

I made the house with the names and number digitally, and printed them onto kraft cardstock,

Then came the stamping. I used stamps by (deep breath): Mama Elephant, Flora and Fauna, Hampton, Hero Arts, W plus 9, Avery Elle , Papermania and Lawn Fawn. I'm thinking of contacting Guinness World Records!

Then I added white gel pen and the words 'New Home' cut on the Silhouette.
