I Never Promised You a Herb Garden

I'm using the Flora and Fauna glass dome again...I think I'm going to get a lot of use from this stamp.

Here, by the power of masking, I placed an Alte New herb pot inside and added some chickwire (Bo Bunny). The herbs were coloured with Promarkers. I stamped the 'stitches' (Inky Doodles' and sentiment (Paper Artsy) and added an enamel dot.

Juicy Pineapples

Aloha!
Here are some juicy pineapples- layering stamps by Hampton Art , stamped with Distress Inks. I liked that although I used the same stamps and colours for each pineapple, they all look slightly different - I suppose it is because of slight placement variations.  The sentiments are Clearly Besotted.

Wish Upon a Star

Still playing with my new Flora and Fauna stamps. There are some teeny tiny images in there and so I'm looking for ideas for using them.

I decided to combine them with sentiment stamps by Waffle Flower.

Just as I was about to stamp this onto a panel, I saw the new challenge at Addicted to CAS, for a one-layer-card and decided to go for it. I think it works better as one layer than my original idea.

So I stamped the tiny deer and fox (Flora and Fauna), masked the fox and stamped the Waffle Flower sentiments.  I stamped the stars stamp (Fand F) repeatedly and silver embossed. Then I stamped the moon (also F and F) and filled it in with a clear shimmer pen. Finally, I coloured the animals with markers.

First Try of Flora and Fauna

Flora and Fauna stamps (just landed in the UK) have a quirky look that both attracts and intimidates me. This is my first attempt at using them.

First, I die-cut a notebook page from cardstock. I stamped the bell jar and stamped the house inside and them stamped the tag on the handle...only to find I should have stamped the tag first! (Fail to plan and plan to fail, folks!)  So I stamped the tag on scrap card,  used letter stamps from an old freebie set to stamp 'home', inked the tag and stuck it over.

The images were coloured with markers and I added distress inks and splatters (visible image) to the page.

I made a cloud background on the card base , using a stencil.

My plan all along- and the reason I'd stamped on a 'notebook' page, was to use Papermania map washi-tape as if it was a note taped to a desk or wall.  This particular washi tape was central to my plan, as I'd been inspired to create this project for a couple of challenges featuring 'maps'.  But when I added the washi as planned it totally overwhelmed the card! I did end up using it, but much less than I had thought to and I tore it into thinner strips. The show must go on!

I bought two sets of Flora and Fauna and I'll see what else I can do with them.

Hello Sunshine

Greetings from the land of intermittent sunshine, aka England, where our sunrays are interspersed with dark clouds these days.

Here's a sunny little card I made from bits and pieces.  The arched shape and the patterned paper were in my scraps bag. The bird, sun, heart and sentiment are all from a Lawn Fawn set. I used an embossing folder on the base.

Pink Baby Elephant

This was a request from my daughter but not a very difficult one, for once. Simply a new baby girl card, featuring an elephant.

The card was made mainly using my Silhouette electronic cutting machine.  The congratulations in a frame is a Lettering Delights cutting file. The elephant is a three layer cutting file by Miss Kate Cuttables. (I love this company - they give away a free cutting file or digital paper every single day.)

In the Silhouette Studio software, I made three copies of the 'congratulations ' frame and then welded one layer of the elephant to each. Then I cut them out , using grey and two shades of pink cardstock. I glued them on top of each other and added a scrap of patterned paper behind.

Birthday Bus

I made this card inspired by a few challenges- only to find that one of them (Seize the Birthday - Splatter) has already closed!

I used Avery Elle Birthday Bus and stamped it off the edge and coloured with alcohol markers. I used a stripe stamp from Inky Doodles , sentiment from My Favorite Things and splatter by Visible Image.

Blue Christmas Fairy

Here I used a Sugar Nellie digi, coloured with Promarker and with lots of highlights of clear shimmer pen. I noticed that she had falling snow on her clothes but not in the background, so I drew the falling snow and coloured it with white gel pen. The background paper was made by white embossing with a a Hero Arts stamp and colouring with inks. I added punched snowflakes, bling and a metal charm.

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Pretty in Pink

This week at City Crafter, Amy is challenging us to use pink.

For my DT project, I made a Christmas card using stamps from Stamping Bella. After colouring the images, I used a stencil to make snowfall, using texture paste with clear glitter. I added a strip of glitter paper down one side and some detail to the hat and scarf with a white gel pen.

I hope you'll come over to City Crafter, see what the rest of the DT have made, and enter your own pink project.

Ballooning Baby Bear

I do like making baby cards!  Here I've used a Hampton stamp against a panel of stencilled clouds. I think the sentiment is Hero Arts and I added 3 enamel dots.
