City Crafter Challenge Blog - Turning a New Leaf

This week at City Crafter, Stella  has challenged us to add a leaf or leaves.

For my DT project I used a very old stamp by PSX (long gone I think ) , and embossed it using copper ep. Then I painted it with Twinkling H2Os so it shimmers in real life.  I stamped the poem - I believe it's all about the beauty of nature , so I thought it would go well.

Our Guest Designer this week is Agnes so I hope you'll come over to City Crafter, see what she and the rest of the DT have made, and enter your own project.

I'd like to enter:

I hope you'll come over to Inkspirational and see the work of our fabulous Guest Designer Linda and the rest of the DT , and enter your own project.

Happy Birthday Yvonne

Happy Birthday to Yvonne, my lovely teammie at Inkspirational.  I hope this card has reached her, or will get there very soon.

As I made this a few weeks ago I can't remember exactly what I used! I used some kind of watercolours on the background - I used a Stampin Up layering flowers set and stamped them using the paints. I used either Brushos or Twinkling H20s or possibly both- Yvonne, if it shimmers, it's Twinkling H20s.!

The script stamp is an old unmounted, Brand unknown, and the fairy was an old magazine freebie. There are 3 sequins but they don't show up well in the photo. So, this is not a very illuminating description is it?!

Yvonne, I hope you have a lovely day.

City Crafter - Inspiration Photo

This week at City Crafter,  Kirsty has chosen this great inspirational photo:

For my DT card I used the stripes, flowers and some of the colours from the photo, using patterned papers and a fox stamp that is from a very old magazine freebie stamp set.

This week, our Guest Designer is my dear friend Nonni , so I hope you will come over to City Crafter and see what she, and the rest of the DT have made, and join in with your own creation.

I'd like to enter:

Falalalala - Conquering Paper Mountain #12

Between Brusho backgrounds and 'lots of white space' , I've not been doing so well lately with reducing my paper mountain.  So here, I am trying to use up a Christmas paper pad by matting onto patterned paper and using it to paper-piece.

I know it's hard to see but I used the sketch at 52 CCT  in deciding how to stamp my carolling characters.  I think the bear is proudly singing loud and clear at the front, unaware he is drowning out his smaller companions! They are from a set by Avery Elle. The music stamp behind them is a very old one from Toybox. I sprayed the panel with green mist.

The sentiment (if you can call falalalala a sentiment!) was designed and cut on the Silhouette electronic die-cutter.

As well as 52CCT , I'd like to enter:

City Crafter - Birthday Wishes

inside

outside
I chose this week's challenge at City Crafter and, for a change, I decided to make it simple and useful - make a birthday card.

For my DT card I made a pop-up card for a baby girl's 1st birthday. The dog was a digital image from Craft Artist, and I designed and cut everything on the Silhouette electronic die-cutter.

Our wonderful Guest Star, Davi  is still with us, and I hope you will come over to City Crafter Challenge Blog and see what she, and the rest of the DT have made, and enter your own birthday card into the challenge.

Sparkle and Shine

I couldn't resist these retro Christmas stamps from Avery Elle. I must say that this card looks less 'smudgy' in real- life. As blogging crafters, glitter really is both our joy and our trial.  It look great in real -life but, in photos, is easier invisible or looks a bit rubbish.

Anyway, the grid stamp behind the deer is Kaisercraft and the second sentiment is a stray.

A Sad Card

Before my daughter became a midwife I had always thought it must be a lovely job, being with parents on the one of the happiest days of their lives.  Well that is true, but also, too often, she's with parents on the worst day of their lives, as many pregnancies don't end happily.

My daughter asked me to make this card for the parents of a baby who was so tiny that my daughter caught it in her hands. The baby lived only for a couple of days and the parents were kind enough to invite my daughter to the funeral.

I made MANY different versions of the card as I found it difficult to make something appropriate and not mawkish.  I'm still not sure whether this is right!

I stamped the dandelion  stamps (Stampendous) and sentiment (Clearly Besotted) on blue card and dry embossed the panel for texture, I felt it needed something to lift it, so I mounted it onto an embossed silver panel.
