Monochrome Christmas

The star stamps in the Memory Box set I used for this card, are dogs, but I enjoyed using the more minor stamps for a monochrome look.

Watercolour and Vellum

I'm really going for it this weekend, trying to catch up with making my Christmas cards.

Here are two where I used a watercoloured background layered with some ready-made sparkly embossed vellum.

For the first, above, I added a snowflake that I create and cut on the Silhouette. I added silver embossing powder and Frantage , with a gem in the middle and a stamped sentiment.

For my second card I used a Pure Innocence digi and coloured it in with markers and glitter markers.  I layered the vellum and watercolour panel onto a dry embossed panel - this is very layered for me!

Inkspirational Challenges : Layer It

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

For my DT card I stamped the flowers and cut them out by hand. They look uncoloured, but I did actually add some pale grey shading. Then I layered them over a scrap of patterned paper. The sentiment was stamped and layered on top.

A Couple of Gate Folds

I made a couple of gate fold cards, using my Silhouette electronic die-cutter. For the first, I used an SVG file gate fold design, just choosing the spotted paper and embossing the flower middle. I inked the edges of the flower , which gives it more of a dimensional effect.

For the second card, I used the same base, but found a snowflake svg that I split into half and cut from glitter card. Then I added pearls and a stamped sentiment.

Inkspirational Challenges - Seasonal

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

I chose to make a Christmas card using two stamp sets : the mice and sentiments are Lawn Fawn and the bunnies are MFT. The ice has glitter pen all over it, so is much shinier in real life.

Inkspirational Challenges - Headwear

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

Sometimes I ponder on our challenges for weeks, but this time I thought - I'm just going to use an image with someone wearing a hat! I found this image in my bits bag - I honestly can't remember whether it's a printed digi or something I (or someone else) has previously stamped. I coloured her with Promarkers and cut her out and used die cut trees and patterned paper for the background. (There's also some glittery highlights but they don't show up in the photo.)

Lighthouse Birthday

Here's a 70th birthday card that I designed and cut on my Silhouette cameo. The lighthouse was an svg file that I adapted to try to make it look like our local lighthouse, Beachy Head. I chose black and white for the numbers etc to reflect the birthday boys home city football colours. ( I have no idea why the lighthouse looks like it's leaning in the picture! It's fully upright on the actual card.)

Sympathy Bouquet

Here's a sympathy card that I, sadly, had to make, using the same stamp set that I used to create the card I posted yesterday as my Inkspirational DT make.

This time, I stamped it onto a stitched die-cut panel, and coloured it with Promarkers, in very pale, neutral colours.

Inkspirational Challenges : CAS - optional twist: animal

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is:

with the optional twist of: Animal.

For my DT card, I went with the optional twist and made a birthday card with a rhino, a balloon and a big sentiment, all in grey and khaki on white. Actually, there was no big plan here! All except the balloon were already stamped/ cut and just hanging around waiting to be used and I was happy with how they looked together,

Snowman in Purples

Another unplanned card that I had fun making and then, afterwards, asked myself: "is it weird?"

I made the background with a round circle stencil and a grid stencil layered over and thought it would look good with the Paper Smooches snowman.  Then, as it's a snowman, I added white gel pen snow. So basically, a snowman is standing in front of some mesh which matches his outfit...  I must tell myself: Don't overthink it!
