Inkspirational Challenges - Funny Sentiment

Our new challenge at Inkspirational , was chosen by Pia, and she wants funny sentiments.

For my DT card I used a Heffy Doodles cave man set, coloured with Promarkers. I used a panel of prehistoric dinosaur paper from Basic Grey - yes, the dinosaurs are prehistoric and I think I've had the paper that long too!

The Library Challenge - Peter Pan

The new challenge at The Library  is Peter Pan by JM Barrie, and there's a Visiting Librarian, Sue Botham.
I chose to focus on the crocodile from the story - you might remember 'Never Smile at a Crocodile' from the Disney film. Apart from the sun ( a Craft Stamper freebie), all the stamps are from a set by Heffy Doodle, coloured with Promarkers. I used a grid design, similar to the cover.

Dotty Skirt

I found this Stampendous stamp in a box of stamps I've had for many years. (The spots border along the bottom are Hero Arts and a similar vintage). I coloured it using zig clean colour markers and added black spots to the skirt and white ones to the bag.

It would have been a quick make if I hadn't had to do it twice.... I coloured it all in and then had a fail at the sentiment stage - it was a first stamp of this Marianne sentiment and it looked all fuzzy . I do have a stamping platform but I find it doesn't entirely stop me having stamping fails and even have produced a few new ones (eg transferring ink off the lid!).

Library Reminder - My Naughty Little Sister

I made another card for the challenge at The Library.
My Naughty Little Sister (Young Puffin Books) by Dorothy, Edwards ...
The cover shows the sister sick in bed, so I made another get well card. I printed an image from an old Polkadoodles CD  , 'Cherryblossom Lane' . I coloured it with Promarkers and paper-pieced the bedding.

Inkspirational Challenges - Shake

Our new challenge at Inkspirational  is a word prompt - shake.

For my DT card I used just one set - So Smooth by Lawn Fawn - and made it into a shaker card by hand-cutting an aperture in the jug.

The Library Challenge - My Naughty Little Sister

The new challenge at The Library  is My Naughty Little Sister by Dorothy Edwards.

My Naughty Little Sister (Young Puffin Books) by Dorothy, Edwards ...
For my first card, above, I was inspired by the story and the cover , which shows the little sister sick in bed. I used a MFT digi stamp - these are kindly being given away free on their website. I know some people have customised them with PPE but I've gone for some escapism and kept her looking like doctor from the old days (ie six months ago).  The background is a Hero Arts stamp.

I'm happy to say that I'm the filling in a sister sandwich , being both a little sister and a big sister. However, I'm closest in age to my older sister and she'd immediately recognise us on this card from the hair colour. These are from a set of digi stamps by Mo's Digital Pencil - there are various options for the cart , so I had to cut out the little sister and the sign and stick them on.

Christmas Floral

No work today - bank holiday in the UK - so up and crafting!

Here I used a Penny Black stamp (the two vases are one stamp )  and I stamped it on green card and coloured it with pencils. I coloured the vases with glitter gel pens and added white gel highlights to the berries. The sentiment is by Concord and 9th.

The B-sides

Do you remember vinyl singles? Did you ever turn them over and play the b-side and find you liked it as much as the hit song?

The flowers and butterflies here are from a My Favorite Things set called Meow Mix - the stamps you notice first (the a-sides) are all cats. But I thought it'd be a fun challenge just to use the other stamps for a change. (BTW the cardstock is white - I just can't seem to get good photos at the moment!)

Fast Flowers

I decided to enter the speed stamping challenge at As You Like It.  Tbh, I only just scraped in at under ten minutes , and only because I had everything ready beforehand and had had a previous, failed attempt. It may have helped if I hadn't, at one stage, inked the back of the stamp by accident - luckily I realised just before touching it onto the card!

Anyway, the flower stamp was a magazine freebie years ago .. I think it was designed by Visible Image. Behind the 'enjoy' , I also stamped some splatter stamps.

Beetle Shaker

It was my partner's birthday last week and, for me, the closer the relationship, the more I struggle with a card idea! Over the years we've had lots of buses (his hobby is classic buses) and frogs (because he likes them) and so I needed to think of something different.

He also has a 1970s VW Beetle - it's not on the road at the moment but he just replaced the brake system. I stamped the 'Beetle' (Flora and Fauna)  , masked it and stamped the scene (Clearly Besotted) behind; coloured them with Promarkers and made it into a shaker card. He seemed pleased.

Inkspirational Challenges - Cake Shop Photo

Our challenge this time at Inskspirational is to be inspired by the picture below :

For my DT card I was inspired by all the pink and the fact that it's a cake shop. I used a Craftwork Card cake stamp and coloured it with coloured shimmer pens, so it shimmers when it catches the light.
