City Crafter - P- P- Pick Up a Penguin

I chose this week's challenge at City Crafter  - to use a penguin on your project.

Here I stamped the penguin, masked it, stamped the circle and coloured wit Promarkers. Simple!

Cool Blue

This weekend I've been making one-layer Christmas cards.

Here I used an image from a new Neat and Tangled set, stamped in navy and coloured with pencils. The large 'cool' is from the same set. I used part of a chevron arrow stamp to add the pattern top and bottom.

The Library - From Time to Time

Strange angle - trying to avoid shadows in artificial lighting! 

At The Library , Lynne aka Linby  has chosen Jack Finney's From Time to Time.

The story is about time travel so I think it'll be right up my street, but unfortunately, I've not had chance to read it yet.

For my DT card, I combined ideas from the cover (NYC buildings ) with the title (time) and came up with a New Year card. I cut the skyline and numbers on the Silhouette and placed them on an alcohol ink background.

City Crafter Challenge Blog - Tag Collection

At City Crafter, Kirsty wants to see some tags. 

For my DT tags, I cut a tag shape from my Silhouette and stamped it with a Paper Artsy tag image. I stamped and masked the animals and stencilled the background. Finally I stamped the to/from.

Inkspirational Callenges - Magic

Our new challenge at Inkspirational is the word 'magic' . 

For my  DT card I made a Christmas card with glitter-topped mountains and Santa silhouetted against the sky.

Two Wreath Cards

It's that time of the year when I barely see daylight during the working week and struggle to get decent photos....

So I apologise for all the shadows on this shot of my entry for the Twofers wreath challenge. Actually, my two designs are pretty similar, with one being Easter and the other , Christmas.

For the Easter card I stamped the card twice in blue and yellow ink. The Easter stamps are by Heffy Doodle (apart from the Neat and Tangled sentiment) and I used Promarkers to colour them in.

For the Christmas card I stamped the wreath twice again, this time in red and green. I added the sentiment and some drops of gold liquid pearl and mounted it on gold glitter paper.

I do make lots of Christmas cards but I don't want to make the same design twice, so all the great challenges around help me with new ideas. Here I combined stamps from 3 sets, coloured with Promarkers and with added glitter pen and glitter paste.

The Library Challenge - Bridget Jones's Diary

At The Library, the book is Bridget Jones's Diary.

I read this book when it was fairly new in the 90s but I've seen the film several times since then and I must confess that I'm not sure which bits were in the book and which were just in the film! The Christmas jumper , worn by Mark Darcy, for example : was that in the book? Well, it was part of the inspiration for my card above.

Sunny Days Ahead

I was inspired by some challenges to make this card - I always like a rain theme and a bit of paper-piecing.  The girl and dog are all one stamp and the sentiments are from the same set.  The paper was an old freebie - it's a long time since I bought a paper copy of a craft magazine but I still have plenty of freebie papers! The rain was added with an embossing folder.

Another One for The Library

The current challenge at The Library  is The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and I made an extra card - it was supposed to be in the Reminder post but I didn't get it finished in time!

In fact this is The Lion, The Donkey and The Squirrel etc. The animals are all one stamp, coloured with Zig Clean Colour Markers. The sentiment is from another set and I spray the card with yellow ink and added black enamel dots.
