There are three (I think) of these Jane's Patisserie books and I've heard they're very good and easy to follow.
For my card, I made a 16th birthday card for my niece, inspired by the rainbow cake on the cover. I used an electronic cutting file from Silhouette and I cut it out on my cutting machine, using glitter card for the rainbow colours and gold foil for the candle flames. I created the sentiment using computer fonts on my cutting machine,
